Now Open at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios - Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

 August 29^th is now behind us and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is open for guests! I love this photo of the opening team at Hollywood Studios! I can’t imagine the excitement for them finally getting to see guest reactions. The entire planet of Batuu as well as one of the 2 main attractions, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers is up and running. The second big attraction, Rise of the Resistance is scheduled to open on December 5^th. If you approach this land in the same spirit with which it was created, you are in for a real treat!

Get ready to immerse yourself In the Star Wars story! I use the word immerse a lot these days when it comes to Disney World. We are no longer just watching the stories unfold around us, the great minds behind new theme park attractions aren’t just giving us new rides anymore. We get to be part of the story in new ways that make visiting these parks even more magical than they were before. Disney has always been unique in how meticulously they create even the smallest details of an area or a ride. For me, and I know, many of you Star Wars is something you have grown up with and introduced your kids to! It’s the perfect story to walk into at Disney World!

Star Wars is not just a cute title, as fans know there is actual war going on in these stories, so you will need to be ready when you walk into Black Spire Outpost! As guests, we will be in the middle of a conflict between the Resistance and the First Order!

And just as in the Star Wars stories, Stormtroopers are patrolling, lightsabers are being forged, droids are being created, and individuals are trying to decide between good, or taking the path that leads to the dark side.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run is likely to be very high on your list of things to do while visiting Black Spire Outpost. While I don’t like to spoil rides for anyone, I will give you the back story and a few pictures! Chewbacca has landed the Falcon in Black Spire Outpost for repairs. In exchange for parts he has agreed to let a smuggler named Hondo Ohnaka use the ship for a mission. We get to help on this “mission” It’s not difficult to “get into” the story and be totally ready for your mission!

An attraction that ushers me aboard the Millennium Falcon as a crew member… well, you had me at just the idea! I’m thrilled to report that initial reactions have this ride more than living up to the hype! Sitting down in the cock pit of this ship is sure to be an emotional experience for many fans! Me included… queue the tears of joy!

In true Disney fashion there are surprises for you before, during, and even after the attraction. Again, I don’t like to spoil things!

Reservations are now available for restaurants like Oga’s Cantina and other attractions in Galaxy’s Edge like Savi’s workshop to build your very own lightsaber. You can make reservations using the My Disney Experience app or the Disney website. Your Castles and Dreams agent will be more than happy to help you navigate the choices, guide you or even make those reservations for you if you would like help.

Another unique aspect that will enhance your experience in the land is how your My Disney Experience app will transform once you enter Batuu! Your app will become a Star Wars Datapad which is an interactive system that will give you the ability to interact with certain droids, blinking control panels, scan the contents of certain containers and even understand the written languages you will find around Galaxy’s Edge.

From unique attractions and experiences, shopping, dining and drinking interesting concoctions, not to mention a chance to join some of our favorite characters as part of one of the most beloved space sagas of all time, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is not to be missed!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to keep Chewy waiting any longer! My trip to Batuu is already booked!
